Painting Lacy is an interactive game. You can paint over the pictures in blocks and win access to bigger brushes. Navigate through various rooms to solve time-limited puzzles by painting over blocks. An alternative to this interactive game is Papers, Please.
Download, install and use
Download the free 148 MB ZIP file for your Windows PC, then extract the file and double-click the installation file. You have six options when you boot up the game: start, poem, controls, settings, credits and quit.
You control the game by using A to move left, D to move right, and the left mouse key for painting; you can also use the left or right arrows to move. The settings menu let you adjust the levels for volume, music and sound effects, among others.
Playing Painting Lacy
You explore each room and paint the blocks you find until you win a reward. Look through the room to find your next challenge by clicking on objects, like chairs or a computer. Sometimes, you need to complete a challenge by painting a block using different colours. Ensure you check the percentages required for every colour to finish the challenge.
Make sure to keep your eye on the clock so that you don’t run out of time. Also, watch out for arrows at the top that show you which direction to go next. Awards aren’t received immediately; you may need to wait a few days to receive them.
Use every opportunity to chat with Lacy because this is how you earn larger brushes. If you don’t have the bigger paint brushes, you’ll run out of time before completing the challenge. Skipping Lacy will also downgrade you to a smaller paintbrush.
Time-sensitive challenges
Painting Lacy uses clever puzzles to teach us about work-life balance. Remember to look at the percentages of each colour required to complete the challenge. Despite the timed challenge, the game becomes boring because all you do is paint over blocks.
