Free strategy game for Android
Poppy Game - It’s Playtime is a free hide-and-seek, strategy game for Android. If you’re familiar with Huggy Wuggy and the squad from the well-known indie horror game Poppy Playtime, you’ll instantly recognise the cast of this imitation. Either run from or play as this game’s Huggy Wuggy monster alternative as you make your way around a top-down maze and amass collectables.
The mobile gaming market is saturated with free alternatives to the most popular gaming and entertainment titles. If you’re a fan of the hit Netflix series Squid Game, you might find Cooky Carver entertaining. If horror games appeal to you more, spend the night in a pizzeria and give Animatronics: Corrupted a try.
Horror-inspired maze
Poppy Game - It’s Playtime is essentially a maze game. This is an incredibly popular genre on the Android platform and appeals to mobile gamers of all ages and experience levels. While this isn’t the most complicated maze on the market, it is well made and has a decent user interface and playfield.
Gameplay
This Android game lets you choose between two game modes: Hide or seek. If you choose to hide, you’ll spend the level running away from a creature resembling Huggy Wuggy. The creature can’t see very far, so the developers have kindly marked out how far away from him you need to be before you are in any trouble. Your objective is to keep out of its reach and collect gold coins and bars. You also need to free other humans who have been imprisoned in cages.
If you choose to seek, you play as a Huggy Wuggy-inspired creature, trying to find other humans hiding. The creature’s limited field of vision comes into play here, too, as you’ll need to be right on top of the humans before you can see them. This involves walking around the entire maze-like structure aimlessly until you find someone to trap.
A decent strategy game
Poppy Game - It’s Playtime doesn’t implement any of the horror aspects of the game it’s heavily inspired by, making it appropriate for all ages of mobile gamers. Both game modes provide moderate levels of fun, but there is no notable progression of difficulty and, overall, the game is very easy to play.
