A Gvim and MS Office Comparison - An Overview

If you are familiar with Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel, you will find that the gvim is in many ways similar to these programs. Although some may feel that it's a bit overrated, it is packed full of useful tools to make programming, editing and coding a breeze. Not only does gVIM provide standard office-style spreadsheets, it also includes a range of other features that allow users to work smarter, not harder. Features such as macros, visual tracking, password protection and auto correct make it ideal for all forms of professional software development.

Perhaps the biggest advantage g Vim has over Microsoft Office is its long tail keywords capability. One of the biggest advantages of using a Vim over a Word program is being able to search long tail keywords inside of a spreadsheet. This means that not only can you quickly identify common misspellings or grammatical errors, but you can also highlight them so you can easily spot them when editing. One example of a Vim's long tail keywords capability is the fact that it has support for Google Analytics, which makes it incredibly easy for any company to track their conversion rates across their entire campaigns.

One of the downsides to using gvim over Microsoft Word is the fact that the spreadsheet that is produced using gVIM is significantly smaller than what you would get if you used Microsoft Office. However, the fact that the spreadsheet is smaller doesn't mean that the user can't make effective use of all of the additional features available to them. One of the best things about using gvim over Microsoft Word is the extensive range of third party plugins that are available for both gvim and Microsoft Word to help you transform your Word documents into effective gVIM format documents.
