If you are familiar with Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel, you will find that the gvim is in many ways similar to these programs. One of the downsides to using gvim over Microsoft Word is the fact that the spreadsheet that is produced using gVIM is significantly smaller than what you would get if you used Microsoft Office.
