Synergy is software that lets you use one keyboard and one mouse on several devices at once. You can control up to 15 devices as one machine and improve your workflow significantly. This can also work between a PC and a Mac as Synergy swaps the key scheme to allow you to use built-in shortcuts.
Synergy doesn’t offer a free version, but unlike other software like Remote Mouse for Windows or Mouse without borders, it works between different operating systems and has no specific system requirements.
Features
Synergy can connect up to 15 devices of all types, from Windows PC to Mac and even Raspberry Pi. Switching from one device to the other is also simple, as you only need to push your mouse to the edge of your screen for a seamless transition. If you switch from a PC to a Mac, you can use the built-in command keys of each machine or create your own keyboard settings to use the same across all your devices.
Once you have installed Synergy, you only need to connect your mouse and keyboard to one computer to use them on all the other devices. Each device needs its own screen as there is no video sharing feature built-in.
Packages
Synergy does not have a free version. It offers three paid packages depending on your needs:
- Synergy Basic: This entry package is intended for single home users and can connect up to three computers.
- Synergy Pro: Also made for single home users, this version offers to connect up to 15 devices and provides TLS/SSL encryption on your inputs
- Synergy Business: This version is intended for companies and can work for an unlimited number of users. This version includes priority support, a dedicated account manager, and access to legacy versions for older machines.
