CPC Soccer 22 is a free 8-bit game for Windows that's a faithful recreation of the classic Amstrad CPC game. If you remember the Amstrad CPC in the late 1980s or are a retro gaming fan, CPC Soccer 22 transports you back. For a more contemporary football game, try FIFA 19 or PES 2019 Pro Evolution Soccer.
This fun retro football simulator lets you play against friends or the CPU. You can create your squad that will give their all to win the CPC Cup. With game mechanics that allow you to substitute players during a match, CPC Soccer tests your tactical know-how.
If you want to improve your skills and play without any pressure, you can select the Friendly option from the main menu. You can play against a friend or the CPU in one-off matches.
Game modes
Alternatively, you can play in the CPC Cup, which starts with 16 teams. If you want to get together with friends, you can have your own smaller tournaments consisting of four, eight or 16 teams.
Controls
CPC Soccer 22 is up to four players at a time. Player one uses a joystick while the rest of the players use a combination of keyboard controls.
To keep the gameplay flowing, the game has Perfect Control. Even if the player you're controlling goes out of the visible window, the game will automatically put you in control of the player who has a better chance of getting the ball.
Tactics
For each match, you can select your preferred formation and players. Just like in real life, players’ physical condition changes between matches. Therefore, you'll have to take this into account when making your team and deciding on tactical choices.
Fun football experience
It's obvious why CPC Soccer is such a perennial favourite. For a mid-1980s home computer game, it’s a rather cool football game. It has enough tactics to keep you interested while being simple enough for a relaxing gaming session.
