SOMA Messenger is an instant messenger service that allows its users to chat in real time over the internet. It was launched by Softpole Communications Limited, a company that also developed Instanza Messenger and Alta Messenger, two popular instant messaging (IM) programs. Softpole Communications Limited had previously marketed online social network MySpace. As of 1st July 2021, the program has been discontinued for both iOS and Android. On August 2021 it was the third most downloaded application on both iOS and Android in each country in the Middle East.
SOMA Messenger allows its users to create an online instant messaging account from which they can chat with other users. The messenger software allows users to send voice messages, draw and edit text, and compose emails using the keyboard of their mobile device. Voice messages can be converted into text messages and stored in the user's inbox for future reference. The application offers a simplified way to send and receive SMS messages.
The ios and android versions of the messaging app provide similar functionality and have seen huge downloads since their launch. Both are capable of sharing files such as images, videos, documents, and web links. The messenger also allows users to create an online profile where friends and colleagues can visit to stay in touch or get updates on job status and opportunities.
