Vector Magic is a desktop-based raster-to-vector conversion application that runs on a desktop. It processes bitmap images and generates vector output, using a tracing engine with adjustable conversion parameters. It accepts common raster formats and exports to standard vector formats used by graphics editors and CAD tools. The Desktop Edition operates offline and does not require cloud processing during conversion.

Vector Magic includes an advanced AI vectorization engine with shape-fitting, color segmentation, and edge-detection routines. The application integrates with external editors via clipboard transfers and file exchange, enabling direct import and export workflows between compatible graphics environments.

Vector Magic includes a drag-and-drop loader and a clipboard import module that accepts bitmap data from the operating system clipboard or file system. When an image is loaded, the conversion pipeline analyzes edges, color regions, and gradients to construct vector paths. Detection routines classify curves, corners, and line segments. Input scaling and preprocessing occur before path construction to normalize the resolution and reduce sampling artifacts during tracing.

Pixels to paths

It exposes a conversion settings panel that controls detail level, color grouping, background handling, and despeckling thresholds. These parameters adjust how the tracing engine groups pixels into shapes and how tightly paths follow source edges. The engine generates Bézier curves and polygonal segments depending on detected geometry. Complex gradients and heavy noise in source images can increase node counts and produce dense path structures that require downstream editing.

Export operations are handled through a vector export module that writes formats such as SVG, EPS, and PDF. Copy-paste transfers work in editors that accept vector clipboard data, including Illustrator and CorelDRAW. Batch-style automation is limited in the desktop interface and the command-line control component. Processing depends on local CPU resources; however, dense path output on noisy images and large raster inputs can increase conversion time and memory usage.
