The free Friday Night Fever - Friday Night Funkin' mod for Windows is yet another entry in the vast collection of Friday Night Funkin' mods.
In Friday Night Fever, instead of the usual situation where Boyfriend attends a concert and is coerced into a rhythm competition, you play the role of Fever, the city mayor of Funk Town. You’ve accidentally landed on another planet during your return from space. To experience the original game, download the original Friday Night Funkin' or take on a different challenge in VS Nonsense.
As usual with the Friday Night Funkin' games, the simplest way to play is with your keyboard's cursor arrow keys. The developers at Gamebanana have used the Kade Engine to provide more accurate input detection, improving the accuracy of your keypresses.
The game is set against the backdrop of a planet populated by criminals and other enemies. The tone gets quite dark at times in the narrative between rhythm battles, so this game isn't suitable for children.
However, the gameplay is exactly what you would expect from any of the Friday Night Funkin' games. You're in a musical faceoff against an opponent where you take turns to try to hit the arrows flying up at just the right moment to maintain the rhythm.
Friday Night Fever comes with a lot of new songs, boasting no fewer than twenty original songs that are all playable. That's significantly more than what's usually provided in other mods.
As it's a mod, Friday Night Fever doesn't change its gameplay style from the original Friday Night Funkin'. However, its storyline is unique and the tone is significantly darker than is usually seen in other mods. Other than extra sounds tracks, the art style is consistent with the original game and there's nothing else new apart from the characters.
