My Family Tree is an easy to use genealogy software for Windows. It was carefully created to assist you quickly build your own family tree with an easy and intuitive interface. More experienced genealogists can even find full support for additional evidence and citations and many options to transfer information using the GEDCOM files format. This software can also be used on the Macintosh computer and can be downloaded for free.

You will need the Microsoft program, My Family Tree vista or later, in order to run the software. A newer version of the program may be required, depending on the current version of Windows being used. The software is available in two different versions, a free download for desktop use and a one-time fee for a Windows database that stores family trees and other information.

Many websites offer downloads of genealogy programs such as Family Tree Maker, which allows you to easily create a family tree of your own. These downloads offer a much less expensive alternative to hiring a genealogist or researching public records. You can print interactive family charts that are comparable to those found in traditional genealogy journals. You can also create electronic photo slide shows that are similar to those in family history magazines.
