Truecaller is an Android app that allows you to detect who’s calling them beyond the information in the address book. It also operates as a call-blocker for unwanted people, spams and telemarketers.
Call screening made easy
With Truecaller, there will be no more ‘Private Number’ calls on your phone. Besides identifying callers, the app can block them. It also does the legwork for you with its massive base of telemarketers and spam callers in your surroundings.
You may browse through names and numbers, too, and the app will provide you with some information about the carrier of the phone. It even does a certain amount of presence detection.
Blocks callers not in-app ads
The app is overwhelmingly accurate. It’s driven by ads, but they aren’t intrusive. It runs on all smartphones, driven by either WiFi or mobile data. As such, it’s not heavy on resources, taking up less than 10MB of your storage space.
However, using Truecaller does bring up privacy questions. When you install it, it takes your permission to access your phone book, and the numbers are then added to its database. Using the app at the price of your own privacy.
Identifying Numbers Made (Too?) Easy
Truecaller is a reliable, effective, and accurate app. While it does bring up privacy concerns for some people, it also adds ease to your smartphone usage. Still, if you’re iffy about your information being out there, remember that you may unlist from this service.
