Free stone quarry game for Android
Screenshots
Stone Miner is a free stone mining simulator for Android in which you play the driver of a stonecutter. The goal is to make as much money as you can by selling the stones you gather. The more stone you can sell, the more upgrades you can buy for your machine. Doing so increases your stonecutting capacity.
It's a relaxing game since all you have to do is be as efficient as possible when you cut the stone. If you're a fan of games based on real-life activities, you can also check out Crowd City and Indian Train Driving.
Gameplay
Controlling your vehicle couldn't be simpler in Stone Miner. You simply drag your finger across the screen in the direction you want it to go as you use your truck to work in open-cast mines. However, this is a piece of heavy machinery you're driving, so you must allow for its lack of manoeuvrability.
When the on-screen metre shows that your truck is full of stone, you have to head back to one of the designated areas for selling it. At that point, if you have enough money, you can upgrade various parts of your stonecutter to improve your performance.
The game gets progressively tricky, so you're constantly challenged. There are various islands for you to tackle, each one with different kinds of stone, which gets increasingly difficult to cut.
Upgrades
As you earn more money from selling your stone, you can upgrade the power, storage capacity and speed of your truck. If you get your upgrades right, it's easier for you to make money on the more challenging islands ahead of you.
Controls
You control your truck by dragging your finger on the screen in the direction you want to go. As you move on to the more difficult levels (islands), you need to exercise more precise control. For example, you have to drive your truck along a narrow railway line to get from the quarry to the sales points.
Mine the quarry
With Stone Miner, developer ZPLAY Games has created a very playable game that makes you enjoy mining stones. We particularly like that no on-screen controls take up precious screen real estate on smaller devices.
The graphics are easy on the eyes, and the truck responds well to your fingertip controls. It's easy to recommend this game for relaxing but thoughtful fun.
