Picsart is a freemium programme that lets you edit your pictures or create collages. The application also offers challenges and GIFs to keep you entertained. Lastly, the programme provides a social network for sharing whatever pictures people deem worthy of sharing with their friends and acquaintances.
Features
The user interface is beautifully designed with the primary options of creating a collage or editing a photo. Once you choose your picture, and go into either the collage maker or picture editor, you'll want to be prepared for the overwhelming number of options available.
The primary feature is the ability to use layers that let you make stellar pictures all for free. Unfortunately, there is an overload of choices, and you will not know if some of the options are behind the premium paywall until you click on them.
Limitations
Once downloaded, Picsart offers a lot, and this can make the learning curve extremely high. There is a lot and it is not well organized. Also, browsing through the application is slow because of the poor interface and the high number of ads that pop up.
The process is even slower because it takes a long time to load pictures and settings. Finally, the programme suffers from glitches that cause it to crash randomly. If this happens, you will lose all your work, even though it is safe for regular usage.
Alternatives
Gimp is another free editor. As it is open source, everything within it is free of charge. It is more complicated than Picsart, but Gimp has every tool that you could ever want to make the best photo.
Photoshop is a paid programme; however, it is the industry set standard for what great photo editing software should look like always. It is smooth and easy to use once you get the hang of it, and does not crash like Picsart.
An okay option
As a free photo editor and collage maker, Picsart isn't the best option because of its inferior design and poor speeds. However, it does offer a good number of editing features that should meet the expectations of someone who wants to learn more about touching up pictures. It is a considerable option as a photo editor.
