NetStumbler - Does it Really Work?

NetStumbler is a free, open-source web-based collaboration and file-sharing software. NetStumbler is very similar to Microsoft Live Meeting, but it is better and easier to use. NetStumbler consists of a standard client side application (CSSA) and a backend web server. Both the server and the client-side applications are based on the same code, so the similarities with other similar products are not really there.
NetStumbler has similar features with Live Meeting like recording audio or video, play music or record video, send and receive e-mails, set up groups, publish and edit slides, search people, find events, add participants to a meeting, etc. For some reason, NetStumbler works a lot better with Windows 2000 than with other platforms. NetStumbler has fewer limitations than Live Meeting. It can connect to a wider network, have more participants, allow you to have presentation attachments, have password protection, have multiple users, create timers for each participant, create events, have multiple conference rooms, etc. You can also adjust the quality of sound and color, zoom in and out, etc.
One thing to be aware of: NetStumbler requires you to install the server first, before it will work with your computer or LAN connection. This is because NetStumbler connects to the server through the TCP/IP network, and it needs to know how to recognize your IP address, especially if your computer has an IP Address Locator. If you're on a LAN, NetStumbler will not function unless you have a stable, fast Internet connection, so be sure to keep your bandwidth and connection level high during the time you're using NetStumbler. Otherwise, NetStumbler might not work at all!
