Steganography - Hiding Data From the Spyware and Hackers With Steganography
Recently, two very popular freeware programs that I was looking forward to using were XoftSpy and Xiao Steganography. Both programs are designed by prominent Internet security specialists and would be excellent choices for anyone who needs to protect their information online. However, there was one major issue that I had with both programs; they aren't compatible with Windows Vista. This is quite an outdated operating system, but I was able to overcome this problem by installing and using both programs on a different computer.
In order to fully exploit steganography, you need to have some knowledge of steganography. Steganography involves taking an image or a text file and then encrypting it using a known message and passing it through a series of encryption keys. When the key is complete, the image or the text file is then transmitted to a destination where it can be decrypted and displayed. This is an extremely simple process, but when steganography is performed properly, the results are incredibly effective at concealing any sort of data from being noticed. Most steganographers will perform steganography on images that contain large amounts of confidential or personal information, such as financial or legal forms. This means that if you want to hide your data online, you should definitely look into via steganography.
To effectively hide your data with via steganography, you need to have a way to perform steganography on that image or text file without the rest of the world being able to see it. Fortunately, the developers of these software programs have found a way around this issue by making their programs compatible with Windows Vista. Although this means that these programs will now show up in the "Help" section of your Windows Vista PC, it still provides you with the means to hide your data. To take another example of how effective steganography can be, consider the fact that this software is able to hide any kind of image on just about any computer file. The only thing that you'll need to do is install the steganography program onto the target computer in question and then attach the hidden file or image to that folder of yours.
