Free Medieval II mod
Medieval II - DenMod is a free Windows game mod for Medieval II: Total War: Kingdoms that adds more nations and fixes a few glitches. It mainly makes changes to the vanilla version of the game, so you can’t have other mods installed. If you prefer having a proper war strategy gaming experience, try C&C: Generals Zero Hour, Rome: Total War and Warzone 2100.
The one significant downfall of Medieval II - DenMod is following the installation instructions. Even if you do everything as detailed in the developer’s guide, there’s still a chance the mod won’t work properly. Still, it has some decent content if you manage to get it right.
The original Medieval II: Total War: Kingdoms is an expansion to the turn-based strategy game. While it adds a few more nations and campaigns, Medieval II - DenMod places a few more locations and tweaks to the current countries. It’s similar to a few other mods for the game without any significant difference. You’ll still be able to select a country or scenario to play, with turns to decide how you want to attack.
Adding nations and content
Fixing bugs
One of the other elements Medieval II - DenMod focuses on is dealing with minor bugs in the vanilla version of the game. There are some gameplay improvements for the battlefield, which enhances the gaming quality. However, the mod makes some of the nations unplayable.
Challenging installation
Many of the gamers that have tried to install Medieval II - DenMod didn’t have much luck. The instructions for adding the mod features to the game aren’t clear, leading some players to abandon the mod. You’ll need to pay close attention to the developer’s notes to get it right.
Expanding the experience
Medieval II - DenMod promises to add some content and fix some issues for Medieval II: Total War: Kingdoms, if you can get it to work. You’ll still have the turn-based strategy aspect while heading to the battlefield to take on your opponents.
Most of the gameplay is the same, and this mod looks experimental. It’s a decent attempt at trying to make changes to the vanilla version of the game while dealing with the major bugs.
