All About Medal of Honor: Airborne

Medal of Honor: Airborne is a World War II based first person shooter video game, originally released worldwide in August 2021, for Windows PC and Xbox 360, on all other consoles in September 2021, and later on PlayStation 3. It is the sequel to Medal of Honor, another highly successful military shooter game. Like its predecessors, it was created by Electronic Arts, the makers of the popular Total Military Pack, a bundle of games that Electronic Arts released alongside the original Medal of Honor. Although not as technologically advanced as its predecessors, it still features excellent graphic quality and a high frame rate.

In essence, the story of the game takes place during World War II, where the allied forces, after suffering heavy losses at the beaches, must find and destroy the German scientists who created a new weapon called "V2". The plot revolves around a group of unlikely heroes, including a pilot who survived the war, a marine, an airplane bombardier, and a soldier who were crippled during the war but still wish to go back and fight. Playing as one of these characters puts you in the shoes of these various heroes, where your goal is to protect your comrades from the enemy. Although the single-player format doesn't offer much variety within the game itself, the multiplayer mode offers more of it, featuring both historical and modern settings. While focusing largely on the single-player gameplay, the award-winning single-player campaign allows players to experience the sights and sounds of war through the perspective of different soldiers.

Medal of Honor: Airborne uses the Windows Flight Simulator Engine, the same technology used to create the popular Windows Redistricting version of the game. The game also features some elements from the classic Dishonored game, such as a parallax effect when moving across air fields, and the ability to shift camera perspectives during gameplay. However, one of the biggest features is the use of the Unreal Engine, which not only allow for some incredibly detailed visuals, but also the use of world geometry and the blending of multiple textures and shaders. In short, if you're looking for a first-person action game that focuses heavily on realism, and wants to give you a good old-fashioned and gritty war story, then look no further than Medal of Honor: Airborne.
