Colin McRae: DiRT 2 Game Review
Colin McRae: DiRT 2 is a follow up on the successful 'Sonic the Hedgehog' video game franchise. The game is an updated version of the hit Sega re-make 'Sonic the Hedgehog' for the Gamecube. Colin McRae is a young driver from a poor family who is looking to get back into the big game. On the day he turns sixteen, Sonic the Hedgehog decides that it is his turn to go into adventure. Colin is soon off on a mission to find the mysterious Master Emerald, where he hopes to save the world and pick up a new friend along the way.
Unlike the first game, where Colin's character was a part of the side-story, Colin has now become an important main character in the story line. The game has an improved graphics package, which is sharper, more vibrant and just generally looking better. The game runs smoothly on both the DS and the Xbox 360, with no visible loading time between them. The control scheme is standard, but the two newest versions of the game feature the new directx 11 feature set, which makes for an even smoother gameplay experience. The game features new courses and the all-new racing mode, which pit your wits against the clock, where every stage takes only ten minutes to complete.
There are many online communities for the Wii and Xbox 360 versions of this game, as well as for the PC version. Wii players can enjoy the Wii remote & Nunchuck controller features, while the Xbox 360 players can play using their keyboard. In addition, there is support for up to four players in online racing games, meaning that up to four players can participate at once in this competitive mode. Codemasters have designed the game so that up to four players can race against each other online in this competitive mode, and players on the other platform can also take part locally, racing against friends who also own the game.
