Free visual horror and sci-fi story
Dino999z has developed the Vincent: The Secret of Myers adventure game. You can download it for your Mac OS X device. The game is still in development but will keep you playing for a few hours. Download it for free in English, Chinese or Korean.
The game is a visual sci-fi horror novel with a simple point-and-click system. Vincent wakes up in a mansion with only his Myers employee card in his pocket. Explore the estate to discover its dark secrets. For an alternative game with cyberspace gameplay, check out EXsynchronos.
It’s been five years since the G4 Cyborg incident that led to the bankruptcy of the Myers Corporation. The once-flourishing G4 district has now fallen into ruins. You play as Vincent, who wakes up in a mansion with his Myers employee card in his pocket. You can’t remember why you’re there and how it involves the Myers Corporation.
Game story
As Vincent, you need to solve puzzles and explore the mansion. Try to survive as you learn the dark secrets of the old Myers facility. Will you figure out the secrets or will you disappear like everyone else? You’ll need to explore the mansion and discover what exactly is going on.
Game features
The game currently has three chapters developed (out of a total of 6 chapters). It’s a point-and-click adventure where you solve puzzles and make decisions based on dialogue options. Watch out for the developers warning of jump scares, flashing imagery and horror elements.
Graphics and minigames
The graphics are mainly in blues, greens and pinks, making the setting a bit cartoonish. It helps to enhance the effect when horror strikes. It uses minimalistic art to create a sense of space and positioning in each scene. Panning and three-frame animations give the scenes a cinematic feel. Complex camera angles and CG sequences move the story along between static locations, creating immersive visuals.
Vincent: The Secret of Myers features an uncomplicated gameplay loop within the narrative. During the minigames, you need to look around for clues, but the game doesn’t provide an intuitive clue gathering system. Sometimes, hints are art-based and not history-based, leaving you feeling lost if you’ve missed a clue.
Engrossing setting and story
Vincent: The Secret of Myers offers a solid mystery story with enjoyable characters and a gripping plot. The developer plans to add 3 additional chapters in the final game. It will keep you exploring to find out all the secrets of the Myers Corporation.
