Windows batch file maker is so convenient for automating so many common tasks that I almost forgot to mention it. First things first, you should install Windows first (if you don't already have it). If Windows is not installed, open Start Menu > System Tools > Accessories > System Tools. In the System Tools folder, double click "batch files" and download or view available Windows batch file types, one by one, until you find one you want. When you find one, double click it and select "open in explorer." You are now ready to create your batch file. Navigate to C:/Windows and open the folder where Windows is installed. Inside the Windows folder, open a new batch file and add any commands or text you would like. Save as whatever extension you prefer.
Open Windows Explorer and double-click the newly created batch file. Navigate to the directory where you want your file saved and double click on the existing file that you want copied. Click "copy" and wait for your file to be copied into the directory you specified. That's all there is to Batch file maker! Start > Run and type "safe restore". A window will appear, just click on "OK". Once you are done restoring your computer back to an earlier time, simply make sure you create a backup of all your changes before you make any further changes to your batch file.
