The Walking Dead: survivors is a free-will survival game developed by Elex, based on the long running comic book series by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, Charlie Adlard and DC comics' Walking Dead. It is an application that runs on the android platform, using the Android engine to allow the user to interact with the game. The game was initially released for Iphone and was later made available for many other mobile devices, including the iPhone, iPod touch, Blackberry, Windows Mobile and HTC Sensation. The story of the game takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where the sole remaining human survivor, a girl called Clementine, has to survive the remaining humans and creatures roam the wastelands as her father and older brother are missing.
This free-will survival game follows the characters as they explore various parts of the city they have been trapped in, trying to find food and water to sustain themselves. The story line revolves around a war going on between the living and the dead, although there is little or no combat. As the player interacts with the different areas and various characters in the game, new survivors will join the group, and new monsters will start to attack. By interacting with the characters, solving puzzles and making use of special items provided, the player slowly increases in levels as they complete tasks given to them by the game's artificial intelligence system.
The Walking Dead: survivors is a fun video game, where the player learns to make use of their environment to their advantage and fight off any threats. It is not a linear storyline, but instead focuses on the character the player is controlling, developing a strong bond with the character over time. Due to its non-linearity, players may find themselves confused at points and need to find out how their actions affect the game's outcome. Overall, The Walking Dead: survivors is a great game that fans of the TV show will enjoy.
