The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross by Netmarble is a free JRPG based on the popular manga The Seven Deadly Sins. It’s a great alternative to Genshin Impact or western RPGs like Tyrant’s Realm. The events of the game closely follow the story of the anime.
The game has both an exploration part and combat. You’ll explore the towns from the anime and use a unique card system for battle. There are also many exciting features for the player to discover.
Card battle system with original ideas
Whenever you’re in combat, you’ll use cards representing characters. What’s interesting is the skill upgrade mechanics. When you have cards with the same skill and tier, they combine and upgrade. It means there’s a lot of room for experimentation.
Whenever you fight bosses, you can also trigger a Death Match. These are challenging battles, and there’s a one-hour limit to win them. You can also invite friends or join a friend for a Death Match.
Great graphics and cutscenes
Since it’s based on an anime, graphics on The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross are expected to be excellent, and they don’t disappoint. They’re very detailed, from the characters to the environments..
Of course, cutscenes are also top-notch with cinematic detail and extremely enjoyable, especially if you’re a fan of the anime.
Many RPG elements to discover
One of the highlights of The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross is how immersive the world is. Not only can you interact with NPCs to get quests and buy things, but you can also cook and work at the tavern. This allows you to get bonuses for the battles and earn money.
You can also decorate the tavern and customise your characters with many options such as jewellery, outfits and more.
A great choice for JRPG fans
The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross is an excellent addition to your library if you’re looking for an anime JRPG with card combat. It has top production values and will keep you entertained for a long time.
The only downside is having to pay to get more fighters and equipment. However, the content you can access without paying is more than enough to make it a compelling choice.
