Format bootable USB drives with InitDisk

InitDisk is a free utility tool developed by Gibson Research Corporation for Windows devices. It is designed to format USB bootable drives and revive dead boot devices that have corrupted data or broken partitions. With InitDisk, users can easily restore their USB drives to full working order.

InitDisk can format USB flash storage with MBR or FAT partitions, making it a versatile tool for a wide range of devices. What sets it apart is its ability to deal specifically with dead boot drives and bring them back to life. It supports MBR and FATpartition formats, as well as devices with up to 2.2 terabytes of storage.

To use InitDisk, users need to run it via the command line with administrator rights. Once opened, it will prompt users to plug in their USB drive for scanning and detection. After confirming, InitDisk will proceed with formatting the drive using a FAT partition by default. Users also have the option to include FreeDOS files for a simple OS interface.

While InitDisk may have a slight learning curve due to its command-line interface, it is a reliable utility tool for anyone working with bootable USB drives. It supports common partition formats, large-sized storage devices, and delivers fast and lightweight performance. The addition of a GUI in a future update would be a welcome improvement.
