Free dragon-slaying game
Deepest Sword for Windows takes you into the depths of the Cavern of Longing on a mission to slay the fire-breathing dragon by stabbing it in the heart with your sword.
You’ll have to learn how to use your sword to propel yourself to the right spot to reach your goal. The app is free to download, and if you enjoy old-school graphics but want more complex gameplay than Deepest Sword, check out Terraria. It’s still retro-looking, but it’s more like an empire-building game.
The three-person team known as Cosmic Adventure Squad developed Deepest Sword for Windows in just forty-eight hours during the Ludum Dare 48 game jam.
Who created Deepest Sword?
What’s Deepest Sword about?
You play the plucky adventurer charging deep into the Cavern of Longing before stabbing a dragon with your sword. However, you shouldn’t expect to succeed on the first go. The dragon’s heart lies deep, so you’ll have to be patient until your sword is long enough to reach it. Every time you fail, you’re enveloped in a burst of fire then return to life with a slightly longer sword.
The catch is that as your sword grows, it gets heavier and more unwieldy. You’ll have to work out how to use it to navigate the dungeon’s tunnels and corridors and reach the dragon’s lair.
Where can I get Deepest Sword for Windows?
You can download it directly from here. You’ll be given the option of paying a small amount to help support the game’s ongoing development. But if you prefer, you can skip the payment and go straight to the free download.
How do I remove Deepest Sword?
It’s extremely easy to remove it from your PC. When you downloaded the game, you chose a destination for the unzipped program files. To remove Deepest Sword, go to that location, select all the files and folders, and click ‘Delete’ in the toolbar. To remove the program permanently, open the recycle bin and delete the files.
Enhanced gameplay
Deepest Sword is a perfect example of how well-thought-out gameplay is the essential element of any game. The real challenge of the game isn’t just killing the dragon, it’s solving the problem of how to get that far with your ever-growing sword. Deepest Sword is definitely worth downloading, and it’s remarkable that the developers created such a challenging game in only two days.
