MX TakaTak lets you shoot and edit short videos on the go. You can customise your channel to get new followers, overdub existing videos, and create to your heart’s content.
Flexible video editing
With TikTok and similar Chinese apps no longer available in India, Android developers are seizing the chance to fill the niche. Viral video creation apps such as Roposo are gaining in popularity, as is MX TakaTak. However, is this app just mere imitation, or does it offer anything more?
Made in India
With its focus on Indian users, MX TakaTak currently supports a decent selection of languages, including: Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Punjabi, and of course, English.
It has over one million creators, including top Bollywood stars. This means there’s plenty of content to view, as well as a better chance of gaining followers yourself.
As with other video creation apps, MX TakaTak is all about creating the next viral hit. That means short, funny, and exciting clips that can be easily shared. As such, the free app supports video distribution across multiple social media networks from Facebook to WhatsApp. However, there’s currently no Instagram connectivity.
It’s not always enough to just film yourself. Adding effects is a great way to jazz up a clip. MX TakaTak has a wide range of effects and filters you can apply to a clip. Whether it’s split-screen, black and white, or something fancier, the app editing suite is robust and extensive.
MX TakaTak opts for a UI similar to TikTok, with the ability to ‘like’ a video being the only available response at the moment. However, other video app features either aren’t implemented or available yet. These include privacy and block settings; every account is public, whether you want it to be or not, with no way to stop someone from following you.
Up-and-coming video app
MX TakaTak performs its functions well but needs to add a lot more features to truly compete with other video player and editor apps.
