The SHOUTcast DSP is used on many Windows based systems and is one of the most popular VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) applications available. However, despite its popularity, many people are still having problems with this software running on their system and have been unable to make full use of all of its features. In this tutorial, we're going to show you how to speed up SHOUTcast on Windows so that it can be as effective on your system as possible. Here's what to do...
To begin, if you've not yet downloaded and installed the SHOUTcast DSP plug-in onto your computer, you need to first proceed to downloading the latest version from the SHOUTcast website. This will be available as a Windows installer program which you can install by clicking on the "Downloads" tab at the top of the SHOUTcast window. After you have downloaded the latest version, it's time to proceed to installing the plugin. To do this, just click on the "Start" button at the bottom left-hand corner of your PC and then select "Run/Search".
Once you have done so, you should see two options - a window for installing the SHOUTcast DSP plugin (the blue text) and a green pane of the actual SHOUTcast application (the one with the numbers and letters). Clicking on the "Install/Uninstall" button on the bottom right-hand corner of the window should bring up the installation procedure for the particular SHOUTcast DSP that you're trying to install (it should be the one with the "last resort" option). The next step is to click on the "OK" button in order to complete the installation process. When your SHOUTcast DSP has been properly installed, it will start functioning as per normal without any extra requirement from your end.
