Electronic Arts (Full Version)

EA brings one of its most popular titles to mobile. Fans of The Sims series can now enjoy this title on their smartphones. Most of the features have transferred well, but it has failed to deliver in other aspects. You still get the same gameplay but don’t expect it to run as smooth as its desktop counterpart.
Live your best life
The interface has become very clunky, making your screen feel cramped and cluttered. Also, the performance did not survive the transition. Longer load times, outrageous battery consumption, and heavy RAM usage are all part of the Android version.
Do not play this game on 4G, because it consumes will use a large amount of data. Unless you have unlimited resources, run it on wifi. Make sure to have your device plugged in during a session. The app drains battery like no other. It also heats up your device in a matter of minutes.
Considering the low memory requirement (less than 2GB of RAM), older devices should run it without any issues. This is not true, as it turns out. If you have an Android 8.0 and below, expect some lags and freezes. The initial launch takes forever to finish, and it still doesn’t compare to the load times between areas in the game. You almost never see a loading screen on a desktop. On mobile, get used to waiting.
Due to the smaller screen, all your controls need to somehow fit into the simplified interface. The developers, for some reason, thought it was a good idea to make the buttons enormous., and in-game notifications take more than half the screen. The whole time you’ll be looking at the menu more than playing. The zoom bar is an absolute eyesore. It’s huge and sits on top of everything, making you lose focus.
The only thing The Sims 3 mobile has gotten right is its graphics. There’s still that polished level of detail you have on PC. Depending on your device, you might even see an improvement in definition.
Customisations remain the same on Android. There are a few extra features you don’t get on the desktop versions, but they replace the ones only PC Sims players will have.
Connect with Others
The Android version suffers a great deal when it comes to performance. Not a small price to pay for a minor convenience of playing on your phone. It defeats the purpose when you don’t even get much playtime due to battery usage.
If you enjoy staring at loading screens, this game is a definite must-try, or if you have unlimited data and don’t know what to do with it, The Sims 3 will put it to good use. Otherwise, stick to playing on your computer.
