Without going into too much detail, Zombie Shooter looks like the first Sims game. The assets, environment and textures all look like they’ve been directly ported from a game from the year 2000.

Even though the graphics aren’t the best, they add to the general feel of the gameplay, making the entire experience feel like a nostalgic ’90s dungeon crawler.

Overall, the game is impressive. Zombie Shooter manages to skirt the line between ‘90s nostalgia and modern playability. It would be easier to consolidate the entire experience if the menu and the gameplay were either both modern or both tributes to ‘90s gaming. Instead, you have a little bit of a case of suspension of disbelief, where you could rather have had total immersion into the fantasy.
