Block pesky ads from popping-up in Safari
Nowadays, any browser that requires an Ad Blocker is simply not good enough in my opinion and Safari is one that unfortunately occasionally falls into that category. Safari AdBlocker sells itself as the only 64-bit ad blocker built for Mac OS X 10.5+ that integrates directly into Safari. It supports the use of AdBlock Plus subscriptions (urls with the prefix "abp:") which is usually updated automatically each week so you're usually well protected from the latest advertising ploys.
Once installed, you can access AdBlocker via your Safari Preferences Panel. On the plus side, there is a convenient contextual menu to enable/disable Safari AdBlocker, you can right-click to block or whitelist sites instantly, and it automatically updates courtesy of Sparkle.
However, there are several issues. One is that, in the rush to support 64-bit machines, it doesn't seem to connect the AdBlock database on 32-bit machines. Also, the frequent console updates to let you know that there has been an error can rapidly become more annoying than the ads themselves!
Safari AdBlocker is fine if you're working on a 64-bit machine but those on lesser models may find themselves more frustrated than anything with Safari AdBlocker.
