Drtag is a free, commercial-quality Windows program (still in development) that lets you rip, split, and burn music CD's using your personal computer. Drtag works much like iTunes does, letting you browse and search for songs. Once you've found the one you want, you can download, burn, copy, and delete it from your hard drive as you would iTunes.
Although Drtag is not specifically designed to rip audio files, it will rip all types and will do so flawlessly. MP3 Repair Tool deletes every instance of the song from the start of the MP3, like any other file on your computer. Like any other file on your computer, MP3 files might get corrupted and become unplayable or damaged, which is particularly frustrating if the music is an old buy, forms part of a collection, or is a favorite.
If you have one of these damaged mp3 files and don't have a DVD to burn it to, you can make a back up copy. Once you have made a backup, you can then transfer it to an external flash drive or CD. Just remember to burn it to a high-quality flash drive, not a regular CD, and use the same CD/DVD burner that you have to burn the original backup to. Finally, to help protect your digital files, you should also get an insurance plan. Protect yourself and your digital files by getting an online music insurance policy before any of these situations occur!
