Desktop DJ mixing
If you want to have a go at DJing, DjDecks turns Windows into a two or three deck DJ console. The interface might be overwhelming at first, with two players opened by default and lots of buttons and sliders. However, it supports dragging and dropping, making it easy to get started by simply opening your music folder and dragging a track into a player.
DjDecks has everything a DJ might expect, including equalizers, a cross-fader, and scratch pads. The first time a track is played, it is automatically analyzed and given a BPM, which seems accurate. There are also tons of effects to play around with, although the explanations are not well-detailed, so trial and error may be necessary.
One downside of DjDecks is that it is always full screen and not very attractive. Additionally, the layout can be quite complex, with most functions mapped to keyboard controls. This makes it challenging for beginners to navigate and use effectively.
Overall, DjDecks is a competent DJ application for experts, but it is not accessible for beginners and lacks a windowed mode.
