ARMA Tactics is a turn-based tactical combat video game for mobiles which run Android and iOS, developed by Bohemia Interactive for mobiles such as the iPhone and the Android Pocket. The game was launched on May 2013 for the Nvidia Shield as a free download app. In order to get the best experience from the game one should have a device that is running on the Android OS 4.4. As far as controllers are concerned they can be obtained for free from several online sources, but users need to make sure that the controller truly supports the OS.
Android versions of Arma Tactics include the following games: ARMA: The Highlands, ARMA: Conquer the Clouds, ARMA: Gunner, and ARMA: Tank Battle. The controls of the games are comparable to other similar strategy games in terms of interface and game play mechanics. Android devices do not support the gesture based interaction, which can be found in Apple iPhone and iPad versions of Arma Tactics. This makes it more difficult for users with such devices to use the controls to take the game into another level of difficulty or enjoy additional features such as screen recording.
The single player campaign in Arma Tactics consist of fifteen missions, which are all self-contained. A player starts off by choosing one of the three mission settings which include: AI vs. players, Team vs. teams, and AI vs. environment. After completing a level, players gain experience points which determine their next level of advancement. There are also several challenge missions available that pit players against each other in head-to-head game modes, and these missions help a player to see what his or her real skills are by providing statistics and performance reports.
