Swarachakra Hindi Keyboard is a touch-screen keyboard designed for inputting text in Hindi. Developed by the Swarachakra Team IDC IIT Bombay, this keyboard follows a logically ordered design based on the structure of Devanagari. It displays the consonants in a grid format, sequenced according to the logical structure of Devanagari. The keyboard also features a chakra system that provides a preview of possible character combinations when typing consonants and matras.
Typing conjuncts like क्रि, स्थ, च्य is made easier with Swarachakra. Users can select the halant from the chakra and then choose from a preview of all possible conjuncts that begin with that consonant. The keyboard also includes separate chakras for complete vowels, less used vowels and matras, numerals, symbols, and rarely used characters. Additionally, users have the option to temporarily switch to the QWERTY keypad for inputting English characters.
To use Swarachakra Hindi Keyboard, users need to install the app and enable it in the device settings. Please note that the keyboard is designed for Android 4.0 (ICS) onwards and may not work on older versions lacking Unicode support.
