Sonic Dash is an upcoming endless runners mobile game developed and published by Japanese software company, Softbank. It is the second installment of Sonic the Hedgehog, the first being the 2021's Sonic Jump. Developed by the famous Sonic Team, who developed the classic Sonic the Hedgehog games for the Nintendo Entertainment system and its sequel, this game is designed with a different perspective than its predecessors.
In the tradition of the Sonic series, Sonic Dash includes all the usual elements you would expect from a well-designed game: power ups, stages to complete, collectible items, etc. But it also introduces a new element: the ability for players to play as the character, Sonic the Hedgehog, and use his ability to dash through obstacles. The result is a mobile video game that have the feel of a traditional platform game but incorporates the speed and agility of a hedgehog. With the ability to dash through walls, navigate over bumps, jump over pits, and fly through air passages, Sonic and his hedgehog friends can easily travel from level to level on a journey to defeat the enemy and reach the goal. One of the nice features that has been integrated into this game is the option to change the hedgehog's eye color, which helps make him look more friendly and less dangerous. As an added bonus, this feature also makes the player's life a little easier (because when you see a blue eye on a bad guy, you know he is bad).
Although Sonic Dash is a fun endless runner game, it doesn't take itself too seriously, nor do the graphics, music, and level design give any indication that this is anything but a fun game. It has a great deal of humor, and the gameplay keeps players interested by providing various challenges and incentives, such as collecting every item in a stage, finding the fastest way to the finish line, or by completing all levels without using a mushroom. In addition to its simplicity, what makes Sonic and Tails' version of Sonic and Knuckles a fun game is that the two creators have kept the essence of the original but made it more accessible to modern gamers. While it may not have the same level of complexity as other Sonic games, it is still one of the best Sonic games available.
