An Android YouTube alternative

NewPipe is a content viewing app for Android users seeking to solve the issue of lagging YouTube videos on smartphones. It doesn’t offer all the features of the world’s most popular video platform, though. Chiefly, it cannot log you in and save your viewing history.

HD video playback

With NewPipe, you get to enjoy video in resolutions not ordinarily available for smartphones. You can set default video settings through the app, as long as your device can support it. If you decide to listen to music through this programme, it will only download the audio stream if you're using it in the background. Thus, it saves your data.

Video popups

This software introduces video popups for added convenience, allowing you to run another app while your video plays in a popup with configurable, movable dimensions.

Downloads

Apart from viewing content, you can download videos through the toolbar in the app's interface and watch it offline later.

Subscriptions

Although NewPipe doesn't enable you to sign in to your YouTube account and get all your favourite content in one place, it allows you to subscribe through the software. The subscription data will stay on your Android device.

A great client

NewPipe is a great app to watch YouTube videos on and enjoy extras. With this smooth-running bundle with zero ads, you’ll make the most of viewing content through your phone. However, remember that it’s compatible only with Android devices and that it lacks the much-loved recommendations.
