Frontline Commando: D-Day
Last week, Neogaf published an intriguing teaser for their upcoming game called Frontline Commando: D-Day (which will also be available on iPhone). The game is completely free to download for both iOS and Android right now. In addition to offering free gameplay, the game allows users to build and customize their own character and load their very own weapons. It seems that Frontline Commando may be the next big breakout hit on mobile devices!
If you're wondering what the game is all about, here's the official description that can be found on the Android Market App Store: "Frontline Commando: D-Day" is an action/adventure PC game coming to iPhone, iPad and Android users. You'll need to assemble a global resistance team to take on the evil Dr. Darkkan in order to save Earth from the clutches of the antagonists. You'll fight on foot, on bike and even on foot in order to accomplish your missions. During each mission, you'll have the choice to either deploy a character into combat or go down the street to scout out the locals for valuable information. On top of fighting enemies, the app also offers four levels of building, equipping your character with upgrades that range from health and armor to boosters that give you extra speed and power. As you progress through the game, you'll be able to pick up weapons and gear, complete upgrades, and earn rewards such as crafting items, rare items and currency that allows you to buy new weapons and gear for your character.
In case you were wondering, Frontline Commando: D-Day is not the same game we've seen on Facebook and other social gaming sites a couple of years ago. It's currently in development for iOS, the tablet and other future mobile devices and has no concrete release date. What we do know is it looks pretty slick, and we imagine it will retain many of the addictive elements of its peers. Frontlines: Normandy is being developed by Zynga, the folks behind Mafia Wars 2. Although there are no concrete details, we expect this game to steer the Wii platform in a new direction and help make it more competitive with other free Facebook games, which can only bode well for its success.
