Candy Crush Saga is a game that splendidly tackles the match-3 genre. However, it’s not an adrenaline-packed rush - there are puzzling objectives and makes the player think several moves in advance.
Engaging match 3 puzzle game
The game consists of crushing candy of different colors. It’s a traditional game in its genre, asking the player to link at least three candies at a time.
The simple game mechanics fit the age-old cliche of easy to pick up, and difficult to master. Besides, each level having a limited number of moves, playing requires thinking, not mindless candy swapping. Also, some levels have time requirements which add to the gameplay!
While there are ways to boost the experience by paying, it’s far from necessary. You’ll have five lives and refills one every half an hour. Through the course of the game, there will also be power-ups to spice things up.
When it comes to aesthetics, this is a colourful and adorable app to add to your collection. The background music may be annoying, but it does add to the exciting experience. Still, the game seems a bit too eager to help the player, offering hints after mere seconds.
The music is a letdown
The puzzles that Candy Crush Saga offers are both plentiful and challenging, with a top-notch presentation. While the background music could be better, and the format is cliched, it’s still one of the best titles in its class.
