Clementine is a lightweight, simple, and clean music player and organizer that is based on the popular Amarok engine for Linux. When you start Clementine, you can compile a library by selecting the folder you want the program to search, and your library will be compiled in just a few seconds. Clementine also includes some interesting apps such as a tag editor for MP3 and Ogg files, support for Last.fm (which requires a paid subscription to this service), the ability to play online radio, and a cover manager to fetch missing album covers.
However, the album cover retrieval feature is hit and miss, often failing to retrieve the correct album artwork, if any at all. Additionally, there are limited global hotkeys and library management options. Despite these drawbacks, Clementine is a well-designed music manager that is ideal for those who prefer a simple and lightweight player for their music.
Clementine is a simple music manager that will appeal to those who just want a straightforward music player.
