Is UltraISO safe?

What is UltraISO premium?

EZB Systems offers a free and paid version of the app. The premium option will let you work with larger file sizes. Both editions support plenty of DVD and CD image files: BIN, BWI, CCD, CIF, DAA, DMG, HFS, IMG, ISO, ISZ, MDS, NRG, etc.

What is UltraISO used for?

UltraISO is a versatile utility that allows you to manage a large variety of image files. You can boot, delete, extract, modify, and convert ISO image file information. The tool can create ISO images from physical disks while maintaining the important bootable data. Files and folders can be obtained from the CD/DVD image file. The service lets you add, extract, and erase the boot ISO image.

You can rename the ISO image after you transform the file from a hard disk to a virtual disc image. Additionally, the utility lets you burn an ISO file to a compact CD or DVD disk. UltraISO can convert various file image formats into the ISO type. The intuitive solution will optimise your image to save space on your PC.

You can access ISO files in a virtual drive with UltraISO. The platform will let you mount an ISO format to an emulated drive. Ultra ISO is compatible with various different virtual drives. You can hold multiple emulated devices within the system at the same time.

How do I run an UltraISO file?

You can use the service by right clicking on files to open the context menu since the app is integrated with Windows Shell. Multiple options can appear when you hover above ‘UltraISO’ in the menu depending on the content: ‘Burn to disc’, ‘Create CD/DVD image’, ‘Extract to folder’, ‘Mount to drive’, etc. You can perform these actions without having to open the user interface.

Additionally, you can double click on the UltraISO icon on your desktop to access the archives within the menu in the user interface. The interactive design lets you drag and drop files within the UI that is sectioned into a double window. You can view the details of the file within the lower pane: filename, size, type, etc.

What format does UltraISO use?

UltraISO stands out by using the ISZ format, which stands for "ISO Zipped." Unlike regular zip archives, ISZ employs advanced compression and encryption methods. The ISZ format supports zlib or bzip2 for data compression and can use AES-128, AES-192, or AES-256 encryption in CBC mode. EZB Systems has made the file format specification publicly available on their website, promoting transparency and compatibility. Notably, third-party applications like Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120%, and CDemu now support the ISZ format.

UltraISO alternatives

DAEMON Tools, MagicISO, and Rufus are similar ISO image files managers. All of the applications are optical disc authoring programs that can emulate ISO images except for Rufus. is used primarily to recover lost data: documents, pictures, etc. Rufus is a free boot solution that can make ISO files on USB flash drives. Here are some of the alternatives:

Whether you're looking for advanced disc authoring, image editing, or USB boot creation, these alternatives offer diverse solutions in the ever-growing digital landscape.

Comprehensive CD/DVD file solution

UltraISO is a popular ISO image file creator, converter, and editor that can make bootable disks. Navigation within the user interface is not as intuitive as the shell integration feature that prompts you with specific steps to complete the standard ISO operations: extract, mount, etc. Ultra ISO can turn physical discs into virtual image files. You can transform audio CDs, video DVDs, video games discs, etc.

The developers inconsistently release software updates to the platform. UltraISO is a legit tool that does not often disrupt the user experience with unstable issues. If you want to see the latest software release, then you can view the detailed update information on their site.
