How to Import MIDI Data Into Guitar Tab Software

What exactly is the Power Tab Editor? Power Tab Editor is a tablature editor for the Windows operating system, a freeware utility. It's designed to be used to make scores for both the two most widely used forms of tablature available on the Internet: acoustic/real guitar and lead. Obviously if you want to learn to play electric guitar, then you need to use a different editor. This is not necessary with the Lead/Protab software which can be downloaded for free from the net, and is really only needed for tracking down and studying individual tabs (with the proper recording software, of course).
The Power Tab Editor has been designed to make it as easy as possible for a complete beginner to learn to use and manage guitar tabs. Like any other tab editor, the new version simplifies entering and managing notes into your chord chart by taking advantage of the AutoToggle feature. You can set the shortcut key you want to use to activate the auto-tuning feature when you enter a new tab.
If you're wondering how it can import midi files from your computer, that's a minor issue but still a very important feature in my opinion. In fact the import feature is so easy to use that I almost recommend that you install the free trial version of TablEdit, the preferred program to use to import midi data. In the trial version you get a virtual keyboard/touch-screen interface that makes it very easy to operate, even for a beginner. And once you get used to how the interface works and how easy it is to import data from your midi files then maybe you'll consider downloading and installing the full version. Or you could just leave it installed on your system for future use.
