Large-scale expansion of Medieval II: Total War
Medieval II: Total War™ Kingdoms, developed by Creative Assembly and published by SEGA, is the official expansion to Medieval II: Total War. The expansion introduces 13 new factions, including fully playable New World factions such as the Aztecs, Apaches, and Mayans, along with over 110 new units and 50 new building types.
Additionally, it features four new campaigns—Britannia, Teutonic, Crusades, and New World—each set on expanded maps with new territories to conquer. These additions significantly deepen single-player gameplay, contributing to up to 80 hours of new content and meaningfully increasing the strategic scope of the base game. Despite these substantial additions, the expansion does not deliver major visual upgrades, maintaining the presentation of the original release.
A key addition in Medieval II: Total War™ Kingdoms is the 1v1 hotseat multiplayer mode, which allows two players to take turns on the same computer in a campaign game. This feature expands the ways players can experience the game together, and it is complemented by the introduction of 15 new multiplayer maps and scenarios, further enhancing the available multiplayer options.
