Free 2D platform game
Hamda Run is a free 2D platform game that features a panda in a hamster ball. It has several levels where you’ll need to grapple and make your way through the mazes. There’s a timer to see how long it takes you, which you can use to compare against your friends. Other titles in this genre you can try include The Forgotten Caves of Foolish Linger and RUN.
The controls are easy as you make your way to the end of each stage. There are some obstacles to overcome, and it becomes more challenging as you progress. The visuals aren’t overcomplicated, with some basic shapes and designs.
The premise in Hamda Run is simple: roll in your hamster ball, grapple onto objects and make it to the end of the level. Scientists have designed these courses to see how well you’ll succeed. Your character is a small panda who has the ability to handle a grappling wire pretty well.
Panda in a ball
Each level has small grapple points that you’ll use to traverse over obstacles and barriers. The first stages show you how the mechanisms work, but they become progressively more difficult.
Gameplay and movement
To roll around in your ball, you move the keys left and right, while jumping is performed with the space button. You’ll see blue and red items to latch onto, and you’ll need to aim with your mouse and click on them to grapple. If you want to restart, you can press the F3 key. Your main objective is to avoid crashing and make it to the end of the level.
Visual elements
The graphics are basic 2D designs with various shapes and colours. The screen scrolls to the side as you move through each level in Hamda Run, with only slight movement effects.
Pass the test
Hamda Run is a casual game that you can play to pass the time at first, but it becomes increasingly challenging. You’ll find yourself addicted to it, trying to find the best ways to beat each test set out by the scientists.
There’s also plenty of frustration when objects are hard to pass or the latch challenging to grapple onto. Fortunately, the keyboard and mouse combinations are easy to use.
