Free game repository for Windows

Google Play Games is a free gaming marketplace for Windows created by Google. This Windows PC Utility lets you play your favourite Android games on your computer. It’s the official Google Play PC utility, and it offers a seamless gaming experience across a range of devices, including Chromebooks, mobile devices, and PCs. Even though this utility is based on the Google Play Store app for Android, its games have slightly higher minimum requirements than the Android versions.

If you like the idea of playing Android gaming titles on your Windows PC, you might also want to try utilities like BlueStacks App Player and LD Player. Both of these are Android emulators, which means they essentially emulate the Android OS on your PC so that you can play games from the Google Play Store.

How to install Google Play Games

Google Play Games is one of the most popular free PC-based gaming repositories and offers over 40 gaming titles. Using Google Play Games, you can enjoy your favourite previously mobile-only games from the comfort of your PC. This means you have better control with your mouse and keyboard instead of just limited touchscreen controls.

All you need to do to access this superior gaming experience is download the Google Play Games app. Next, you’ll need to install the app from your browser or downloads folder. All that’s left then is to sign in or create a new Google account, and you’ll be ready to game.

Seamless syncing

Google Play Games for Windows gives you access to seamless syncing. The app will automatically sync your list of games and progress within each to your Google account. That way, whenever you install the app on a new device, you’ll be able to pick up exactly where you left off.

Minimum requirements

As previously stated, the minimum requirements for this app are relatively high. You’ll need to ensure that you have a solid-state drive (SSD) and that it has at least 10 GB of available storage space. You’ll also need to be on at least version 2004 of Windows 10 or any version of Windows 11. Another requirement is that you have hardware virtualisation turned on. It doesn’t matter whether this is Hardware Accelerated Execution Manager (HAXM) or Hypervisor.

Gaming at your fingertips

Gaming repositories are popular because they don’t just give you access to one game, they let you play many. While Google Play Games isn’t the most extensive PC gaming repository on the internet, it is still one of the better alternatives

If you want to play mobile games on your PC without the use of an Android emulator, this is the way to go.
