Glarysoft Ltd. has developed a quick search tool for Windows. It helps you to find files and folders using keywords in real-time. You can download it free in English for Windows 7 up to Windows 10.
Glarysoft Quick Search gives you an efficient way to locate files on your computer. Indexing is fast, and it uses minimal resources. It has an intuitive interface that makes it straightforward to use. You can use the filter to narrow down the search for more relevant results. Additionally, you can try Everything, another similar utility for Windows.
The utility has a simple user interface, showing only one screen. On top, you have the search box, while underneath a horizontal navigation menu. You can use it to choose the results you want to display in the following order: Files, Show All, Shortcuts, Documents, Music, Pictures, Programs, Videos and Compression.
The results will display the following info:
- Date Modified
- File Type
It also has a preview window on the right, with all the details mentioned above.
How to use
When you type a keyword in the search box, a bar appears with web results, powered by Bing. Underneath the web results, you’ll see a listing from your computer. You can click on any file to see the preview. Double-click to open the file or folder and use the up and down arrows provided to extend or collapse the web or computer results.
Then, use the filter bar to choose if you want to view files, folders or videos. Or, you can choose ‘Show All’ to see all the results. To sort in ascending or descending order, click on the headings, like name and path.
An arrow at the top right lets you access the ‘History’. For example, you can either re-run or delete your last search. You can also use the sliders to scroll left and right if all the results and details aren’t visible, especially if you view the window minimised. If the information you’re looking at doesn’t fit into the column, drag the header to enlarge it.
Find files fast
Glarysoft Quick Search gives you a way to search your computer and the web at the same time. With the filter, you can view only the results you are seeking, like music and videos.
The developer optimised the quick search during the latest release by delaying the hard disk loading on startup. There was also minor graphical user interface (GUI) improvement and bug fixes.
