The program FoxySpider allows you to search and extract text, files and other media files from windows without the need of a complicated or expensive scanning tool. Although not a very comprehensive utility, it is fairly good at finding the hidden files and codes that many malicious viruses and spyware use to install their payload on your computer. This software comes with a wide range of features that enable it to be very effective in finding the files you are looking for. It can be configured so that you scan for any file type with a specific definition or it can be configured so that it only scans for files that match a certain pattern or a word or phrase that you provide.

This powerful anti-spyware software uses a complex algorithm to identify different file types including all kinds of common virus applications as well as spyware applications. It can be configured to perform a full or summary scan on your computer or it can be configured to run a selective scan on specified file types. One nice feature of Foxyspider is that it has a backup facility so that you can restore any changes if you accidentally delete a file or invalid entry from the Windows registry. It can also be configured so that it runs as many times as necessary to repair infections that have taken place. Unlike many other anti-spyware tools, Foxyspider can be set up to run in the background so that it will constantly perform a deep scan and update itself with the latest definitions of common virus and malware applications on your system.

One of the biggest drawbacks of this program is that it only scans the registry. If your PC is plagued by dozens of malicious files and you're not particularly interested in which ones have been installed on your system, then you won't really see much of a benefit from Foxy Spider.
