Battle Fantasies - A Review of Battle Realm Technologies Ltd
Battle Realms is an online strategy computer game released and published by Crave Entertainment and Ubisoft. It was the very first online PC game developed by Liquid Entertainment. It was also the very first game designed by Liquid Entertainment.
This real-time strategy computer game follows the storyline of the Battle Ages, a time when ancient evils threaten to destroy the human race. You play as one of several unique heroes of the realm who must explore, fight, and eventually fall in love and marry to win back the throne of her queen, battling across eight unique realms. Each realm is filled with quests to complete, many requiring puzzle and combat tactics to conquer. Each realm is also filled with creatures and monsters who, if you lose the battle, can cause your journey to become ruined and you will have to start all over again.
The Battle Ages expansion pack was released in October 2002, following the success of Battle Grounds: Normandy. This included two new episodes and a number of new features. The Battle Ages expansion pack featured brand new maps, story elements, animals, quests, allies and monsters. A special Forces Colored avatar was also included as a free gift for the fans. This avatar was changed into the wolf, a creature seen throughout the entirety of Battle Ages, and was not seen elsewhere in the Battle realms. The French pronunciation of the word 'wolf' is "yoo-vre", a variation on the English word 'wolf'.
