Free Among Us spin-off for Windows
Among Us Arena is a free fan-made spin-off of Among Us, created by Starcutter for Windows. It's based on the enormously popular original game Among Us by Innersloth. Starcutter has turned it into a one-on-one fighting game with a very authentic backdrop and Among Us characters.
There's plenty of choice regarding how to play, as you can select from local, arcade and online modes. Within each of those, you have further options. To see the inspiration for Among Us Arena, check out the original Among Us for Android. For a classic one on one fighting game, you can't go wrong with Street Fighter 2.
The two combatants move left and right and can also jump and crouch. You have various weapons at your disposal, including a gun, a knife, and your fists.
Gameplay
You accumulate bonus points by putting together combo moves as you strike your opponent.
Controls
You have the option of using a keyboard or gamepad to play Among Us Arena.
Using a gamepad feels more intuitive than the keyboard. The keyboard requires the use of twelve different keys for each player. In local two-player mode, both players have to use the same keyboard.
Play modes
Among Us Arena has four different play modes: training, local, arcade and online.
Training mode is recommended before you get into the real competition, so you can get accustomed to the controls, especially if you're using a keyboard. In online mode, you can join a room, and the game can search for suitable opponents.
Graphics
The graphics in Among Us Arena are completely faithful to those of the original game. This makes it feel like a natural extension of Among Us. However, the developer makes it abundantly clear that there is no affiliation with or endorsement by the original game and its developers.
Fan-made game
Fan games are sometimes quite poorly executed, with enthusiasm exceeding technical skills. However, this is not an assertion that could be levelled at Among Us Arena. The graphics are excellent, and there's a great choice of gameplay options.
With the ability to switch between weapons, it's understandable that there are so many keyboard controls. This could be off-putting, especially for casual players. Even for more experienced players, we recommend using a gamepad for this Among Us fighting game.
