Computer math games, such as TuxKart, of TuxMath (TuxKart for Short), is an open-source arcade-style game for young children of all ages. TuxKart is a release of the award winning Tux4Kids, a math educational game which also has been featured on multiple television shows, and has become a sort of industry standard in educational applications. Tux4Kids is an application which is available for both Windows and Mac, using the Flash plugin. The game's interface is very basic: two panels with two rows of four numbers each are arranged in a 16-column grid. The right or left mouse button clicks the bottom number in either panel and selects the corresponding number in the second panel.

Unlike many other arcade games, Tuxkart has a few different commands which make it more interesting and interactive. The most important of these commands is the "P" command which will jump your character forward, and the "X" button to reverse. Holding both keys simultaneously will move your penguin forward or backwards. Moving your mouse wheel left or right while your penguin is moving will zoom him/her forward or backwards, respectively.

While it may seem like a very simple game, TuxKart was originally designed as a math tutor application. The game will teach young children basic addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication, as well as how to problem solve using the worksheet and click-and-drag movements of the mouse. As a result, kids can learn addition, subtraction, and multiplication while having fun and engaging in a high-quality arcade game.
