Tank Stars is a free, turn-based competitive tank game for Android 5.0 and above from developer Playgendary. You face off against enemy tanks across a colourful rolling landscape. You start off with basic weaponry, and as you progress in the game, you get access to ever more powerful weapons - from a simple missile to an atomic bomb.

Big guns…and more

Naturally, you start the game with a basic tank. However, as you progress, you'll be able to equip yourself with more powerful tank weaponry as well as other kinds of weapons. These include bomber planes for aerial attacks and even the ultimate agent of destruction—a nuclear bomb.

You don't have to settle for boring old battle grey colour for your tank. With this game, you can unlock customisation options or take advantage of in-app purchases to customise your tank and truly make it yours.

Tank Stars has an excellent online multiplayer system. Not limited to just playing against algorithms, you can connect with opponents around the world to take part in real-time battles.

Winning ways

While it's great to have awesome firepower at your disposal, if you don't use it properly, you're still going to get blown to bits by a more skilled opponent. You have to factor in your position on the rolling hills and select the right firing angle to hit your enemy before they can get you. Strategy is everything in the game of Tank Stars.

Our take

Tank Stars is a lot of fun which you can enjoy on two levels. On its simplest level, you can just enjoy pounding your enemies into dust with your awesome military hardware. However, if you really want to progress in the game, you'll have to work out positioning and angles before your enemy does, to ensure you get the first shot in.
