S.o.L.o is a free game by indie developer, Rolando. It’s a robotic adventure game on a mining planet, where hundreds of robots are left to their fate. It’s fun to play, and it’s suitable for players of all ages.
Similar to other games such as Metamorphosis Final Game, Yanga, and Space Splat, S.o.L.o was specifically developed for ZX Spectrum 8-bit personal home computer system. What is S.o.L.o about?
S.o.L.o is relatively easy to play. As mentioned, it takes place on a mining planet. Humans have left the planet leaving behind hundreds of robots to their fate under the sole protection of artificial intelligence called ISAC.
On the planet, the extraction of ETER (a valuable substance specific to the planet) is now affecting some of the robots’ circuitry and positronic minds. This has turned some of the robots into enemies of the planet, and they must be eliminated.
It’s fun yet challenging and has a lot of room to play. Also, it comes with a lovely soundtrack that will keep you entertained throughout. You need to run the app in the 128kb version to enjoy the music. The smaller 48kb game version does not include music.
You’ll come across different types of enemies that you need to kill. It features different levels, and you’ll need to collect various items that’ll help you during the game that include multiple key collections, laser beams, and more.
Game controls
S.o.L.o was specially designed for ZX spectrum 8-bits PCs, but you can also play it using a compatible emulator. If you have a ZX spectrum, then you can play it with your Sinclair or Kempston joystick. However, on an emulator, you can play only with the keyboard. On the keyboard, the letters ‘O’ and ‘P’ are for left and right. ‘M’ is for Action, ‘Q’ to Jump, ‘A’ to Crouch, and ‘H’ to turn off your PC.
